School Programmes
To reach the next generation of leaders within the community, the home, and the Church, our Bible Training Centre students are sent out two by two to share the Good News in primary and secondary schools throughout our area and the areas around each Satellite BTC.
In partnership with local headmasters, our students have been given time each week to walk alongside young people in their personal journey with God through biblical teaching, discipleship, and open discussion.
Eager to learn, many children wait expectantly for the students to arrive on their motorbikes from villages as far as 30km away, gathering together under the trees for each session.
Questions about the Kingdom of God are always welcomed, creating lively and interactive times of learning where both the children and the trainers continue to grow and be encouraged together.
The programme in numbers
Weekly, sent out from our main base alone, we continue to:
-
Equip and send 20 champions into the schools,
-
Reach 1800 children in 6 primary schools,
-
Reach 700 youngsters in 6 secondary schools.
But our vision does not end there.
As our manpower increases, we will send teams of two to the remaining schools in our area.
Curriculum
Primary Schools
In the primary schools, we use the 17 Stories curriculum developed by OneHope.
Designed to help children discover God’s Big Story, each lesson focuses on another step within God’s plan of redemption. Through interactive teaching and discussion, the children are encouraged not only to learn biblical truths, but also to apply them personally in their daily lives and growing faith.
The lessons create space for questions, conversation, and meaningful engagement, helping the message of the Gospel become both understandable and personal to each child.
Secondary Schools
In the secondary schools, we use the same Satellite Bible College International (SBCI) material taught at our Bible Training Centre.
This allows our student-teachers to share from what they have first received and made their own. Drawing from both Scripture and personal testimony, they lead practical, Christ-centred lessons that encourage students in their faith and daily walk with God.
As part of our mission to equip and send believers into effective ministry, the teaching emphasizes:
-
discipleship
-
leadership development
-
evangelism
-
spiritual growth
-
integrity
-
transformation
Through this, both the student-teachers and the students are encouraged to serve faithfully within their homes, communities, churches, and future areas of ministry.
All teaching materials have been translated into Tonga by our local team, helping make biblical training more accessible within the communities we serve.
Thanks to the generosity of visiting teams and church supporters, each participating school library has also received 15-50 Tonga Bibles for use during lessons and personal study, based on the size of the school.
